"All the world's a stage we pass through." - R. Ayana
Aside from the reality that certain individuals ARE physically immortal, human stem-cell research makes such longevity possible for anyone wealthy enough to avail themselves of the techniques.
But domesticated primate hominids are already immortal in the true sense of the word - it's just that their attention spans are so short that they don't remember their lives.

The question of whether people would want to live forever is the seminal issue. Everyone leaves their body – or stays in it – voluntarily. When the pain caused by a misspent life, or the real or imagined guilt most carry as a burden throughout their lives, builds to an intolerable point for the person concerned, they decide to leave – just as perfectly healthy people will suddenly pass on when their spouse of many decades dies.
It’s quite possible to heal all damage and dissolve all adhesions – if one puts the requisite time, focus and energy into the pursuit of longevity. The only limitation is imagination. Each of us creates our own reality and destiny – there is no such thing as accidental death.
Would you want to live forever – if you could?
