Telekinesis is an extension and refinement of perception itself. While it's true that 'dabbling' in such things is unwise, it's always best to pursue your inclinations in these areas of interest. Whether or not to follow any particular system is at the core of the matter - it is also possible to find your way through the miasma, but easier if using constructs of consciousness-oriented groups. These facile constructs have a tendency to embed themselves in your being, however.
To use TP or TK, one is at risk of being trapped at the throat chakra and, being capable of influencing the material world, finding it is more easy to use the facility to influence already animate matter - living beings, via hypnosis. This is a grave temptation and must not be explored in a willy-nilly manner. One can become trapped in a Bardo state.
